RackStar ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by NV-IT. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the RackStar application. Please read this policy carefully. By using RackStar, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is collected automatically when you use RackStar.
1.1 Personal Information
- Email address - Used for account identification and communication.
- Display name - Your chosen name visible to other players.
- Profile picture - Retrieved from your authentication provider (Google or Microsoft).
1.2 Game Data
- Game scores and results - Records of pool games you play, including wins, losses, and statistics.
- Game history - Historical data of matches, opponents, and game modes.
- Leaderboard rankings - Calculated from your game performance.
1.3 Technical Data
- Push notification tokens - Device tokens used to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Authentication tokens - Secure tokens for maintaining your login session.
2. Authentication Providers
2.1 Google OAuth
When you sign in with Google, we request access to the following information from your Google account:
- Email address - To identify your account.
- Basic profile information - Your name and profile picture.
We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, drive, or any other Google services. We only use the minimum information required to create and maintain your RackStar account.
2.2 Microsoft Authentication
When you sign in with Microsoft, we request access to the following information from your Microsoft account:
- Email address - To identify your account.
- Basic profile information - Your name and profile picture.
We do not access your Microsoft files, emails, calendar, or any other Microsoft services beyond basic profile information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your RackStar account.
- Track and display your game scores, statistics, and leaderboard rankings.
- Send push notifications about game invites, turn reminders, and game results.
- Facilitate real-time multiplayer gameplay.
- Improve and optimize the application experience.
- Communicate with you about service updates or support inquiries.
4. Push Notifications
RackStar uses web push notifications to enhance your experience. When you opt in to push notifications, we store a device-specific push subscription token. This token is used solely to deliver notifications about:
- Game invitations from other players.
- Turn notifications during active games.
- Game results and score updates.
- Game night (speelavond) reminders.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your browser or device settings. We do not use push notification tokens for advertising or marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and Tracking
RackStar does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. We use only essential authentication tokens (stored in your browser's local storage) to maintain your login session. No third-party tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies are used.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure located in the European Union (EU) region. We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
- Secure authentication via OAuth 2.0.
- Regular security updates and monitoring.
- Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your game data (scores, rankings) is visible to other RackStar users within the application as part of the leaderboard and game features. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- When required by law or legal process.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of RackStar, our users, or others.
- With service providers who assist in operating the application (e.g., cloud hosting), subject to strict data processing agreements.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access - You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification - You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

- Delete your account and personal profile information.
- Remove your game history and statistics.
- Delete any push notification subscriptions.
- Complete the deletion within 30 days of your request.
10. Children's Privacy
RackStar is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
